The IS Chair for Services, Processes, and Intelligence, led by Professor Dr. Freimut Bodendorf, has its main focus on enabling strategies, solutions, technologies and IT systems for service industries such as commerce, retail, logistics, healthcare, tourism, education, and industrial services. Service innovation and service engineering require close attention to the management of business processes, information, and knowledge. So, research and teaching also cover IS-related process management and business intelligence. Inter- and intra-organizational business networking complement the “big picture” of service and process-oriented e-business.

The IS Chair for IT Management, led by Professor Dr. Michael Amberg, deals with business information technology and IT management. This research group analyzes methods, models and strategies to successfully develop implement and operate information technology in business environments. Main research areas are acceptance management, quality management, IT-Offshoring and the economics of IT investments. The group has a substantial track record in designing and evaluating larger software prototypes for its research projects.

The IS Chair for Digitalization of Work and Life, led by Professor Dr. Sven Laumer focusses on the understanding, design and management of digital technologies and the associated changes. In their work, they create a better theoretical understanding of digital technologies, evaluate them from an economic as well as from a technical point of view and apply them purposefully in the operational reality. Main research areas are the Digitization of the individual, the future of work, and digital business models and e-services.
