About the FSI WInf/IIS
FSI WInf/IIS
The FSI Wirtschaftsinformatik / International Information Systems e.V. is the official student representative body at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg. Our roots date back to the winter semester of 2009/2010, and since 2019, we have been organized as a registered non-profit association.
We represent the interests of students in the Information Systems (B.Sc.), International Information Systems (M.Sc.), and Business and Economics with a focus on Information Systems (B.A.) programs. As with everything in the field of Information Systems, our work is built upon three central pillars:
Representation and Co-determination
As the voice of the student body, we act as the interface between students, the chairs, and the faculty. We provide you with the opportunity to bring your ideas and requests directly into everyday university life, actively helping to improve both the degree programs and campus life.
Networking and Community
Community is our focus. We organize regular events that provide space to meet fellow students and establish contacts across different semesters. From social evenings to leisure activities, we create opportunities for exchange outside of the lecture halls.
Academic Support
We provide academic guidance throughout your studies and offer information on important topics that go beyond regular lectures. We know from experience how confusing university life can be at first; therefore, we specifically support first-year students in settling in and finding their way around. However, we are also here for you at any later stage of your studies to answer questions and help with any uncertainties.
A central part of our work is facilitating communication between students and the chairs. Thanks to our close contact with the departmental teams, we can help ease your entry into research or practical collaboration. We regularly share information about current openings for student assistants (Hiwis) and research positions. To support you with major milestones, we host informative events such as “What is WIN,” which is specifically designed to help with the planning and topic-finding process for Bachelor’s and Master’s theses.
Whether you are looking for support, want to get involved, or simply want to meet people from your field of study you can reach us anywhere 🙂
